Normally, one shouldn’t get that close to a wild Hippo, even one that is as habituated to people as Oscar, but we were told by the staff that we would be safe as long as we stayed on the deck and didn’t disturb him. The rest of the photos are of other hippos in Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, Botswana. Maybe one is Oscar’s father???
