2024 Nosy Be–the End of the Adventure

The photo above is from the lookout on the highest point on Nosy Be, Mt. Passot, about a thousand feet above sea level. The small island you can see in the photo on the right is Nosy Tanikely. Behind it in the distance, below the clouds, is the Grande Terre of Madagascar. On the left you can see the Island of Ambariovato, aka Nosy Komba.

In the gallery below you can see some photos taken around Exora Beach Hotel. I had lovely sea views from my room, I could see Nosy Sakatia, the island where we had lunch and snorkeled with sea turtle after we saw the whale sharks in the beginning of the trip.

More sunset photos are in the gallery below. It was a terrific viewpoint from which you could see for miles in all directions. The only downside was that it was crowded. There was a cruise ship in the bay that we passed on the boat ride back from mainland Madagascar to Nosy Be.

I included a photo of a map of Nosy Be in the gallery below near the end.

The last few photos in the gallery below are from my flight home. It wasn’t a great one because a sick passenger had to be removed from the flight after we were already on the runway as we were leaving Ethiopia delaying the flight by about three hours. Much of the time was because they also had to retrieve their luggage from the cargo hold. It happened again after refueling in Rome, this time we had to wait on the tarmac for six hours! I did get a few pretty sunrise photos through the window and watched a few movies. I hope the people who had to leave are OK.
