The picture above is of Mouse lemurs hiding in a large dead leaf. The diminutive primates endemic to Madagascar are definitely in the cute and cuddly, furry and fuzzy category.

The very last photo in this gallery is of the type of bus we traveled in on the 2019 adventure with the group referenced in the story. In 2024, we used a combination of boats, Tuk-tuks, four-wheel drive vehicles, and even a short drive in the vans the Malagasy people call taxi brousse, which I believe translates as brush taxi. They are often very old vehicles, crowded with people and animals; including live chickens. Once, I even saw live goats strapped to the top looking perfectly calm like it was there everyday method of travel. I will show you some photos in the next gallery when I get it posted.
