Harpreet Singh was my naturalist, but it turns out not only is he good at spreading his enthusiasm about nature, but he is also the manager of Kings Lodge Bandhavgarh. His nickname, as I told you a few posts ago, is Happy. He is excellent at making sure his staff keeps the lodge guests well pleased. I would say in all my travels I have never received better service.
He is a good photographer too, and on my departure he gave me digital copies of what he took while I was on safari with him. The photo above is one of his, as are the photos here. They are similar to the ones I took, it figures, we were in the same vehicle, but I am trying to feature some of the work of people I meet in my travels. So I hope you enjoy his gift.
Also on the last day, he and I went for a walk to see if I could increase the total number of birds on the “try to see it all” checklist for the Bandhavgarh region. We also saw a golden-backed jackal, but it ran off before either of us had a clear shot at a photo. Some of the birds we saw are featured here.
Additionally, I would like to thank all the local guides and the people I shared meals with, while staying in the lodge. The conversation was lively and I appreciate the kind words of those who took time to read my posts and look at my photos.
